Retail Forum
The first Industry Forum was created in 2000 and was called the ‘Retail Forum’. It takes its membership from the supermarkets and wholesaler symbol group retailers operating in Ireland. The Retail Forum had its first full year of quarterly meetings in 2001 culminating in a review of progress by the members. All members found that they benefited from the information given by the FSAI and from discussions on impending food legislation. Members of smaller organisations also found it useful to hear about the food safety approach of larger organisations. All members expressed a wish for the Forum to continue and welcomed the access to the FSAI. On the request of members the membership of the Retail Forum was extended for 2003 to cover wholesalers managing symbol groups of independent retailers.
