The FSAI has completed the first extensive survey of fish and fish products on sale throughout Ireland to determine the integrity of the product labels.
The purpose of this survey was to establish baseline information on the presence of Listeria monocytogenes and other Listeria species on cooked meat slicers in retail and catering premises. The survey investigated 2664 samples taken from 665 meat slicing machines in the Republic of Ireland.
