Products of animal origin
Specific rules for products of animal origin are set out in Article 18 of Regulation (EU) 2017/625. These rules are supplemented by:
- Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/627 - sets out how to carry out official controls on products of animal origin, and
- Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/624 - sets out specific rules for the production of meat and for the production and relaying areas of live bivalve molluscs
These rules apply in addition to the those of Regulation (EU) 2017/625 but only for activities and food business operators to which Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 applies.
They replace Regulation (EC) No 854/2004, which has been repealed.
