Message:
Avoca is recalling a single batch each of its Avoca Hummus and Avoca Colcannon because of the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. These products were sold from Avoca stores only.
Update of 06.02.17: The Hummus product involved has a use by date of 09.02.17 and not 07.02.17 as previously advised by Avoca.
Nature Of Danger:
Detection of Listeria monocytogenes - Listeriosisis a serious disease which can be life threatening, particularly for pregnant women, the elderly and other people with a weakened immune system.

No action is required by EHOs at present; however, please notify FSAI (rapidalert@fsai.ie) of any concerns.
Manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, caterers & retailers:
Food businesses should remove the affected batches from sale and clearly display a Point of Sale recall notice informing customers not to eat the affected batches.
Consumers:
Consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batches. Consumers who have bought an implicated batch should dispose of the
product or return it to Avoca.
