Enforcement and Audit
The FSAI undertakes various enforcement, monitoring and auditing activities to ensure the food produced, distributed and marketed in Ireland is safe.
In this section you can find information on the FSAI’s enforcement activities and access the enforcements orders reports.
In this section you can find information on monitoring activities to determine compliance with food legislation, such as sampling and analysis of foods and food labelling, as well as monitoring activities as part of official controls set out in Regulation 882/2004/EC. You can also access reports and surveys.
The Shellfish Harvesting Monitoring Programme ensures shellfish that are unsafe are not harvested and placed on the market. Results of testing carried out under this programme are available from the Marine Institute.
In this section you can find information and reports on the FSAI’s audit activities, which, among other things, provide an independent evaluation of the effectiveness of the Irish official control system.
