Food Safety Training

Are you looking for Food Safety Training? Here’s what you need to know

If you have a food business, or work in the food industry, you are legally required to undertake food safety training and/or be supervised in line with the level of activity you are involved in. So, for example, managers will need different training to those serving food.
If you are responsible for the development and maintenance of your business's HACCP system then you must undertake adequate training in the application of HACCP principles. Read more information on HACCP

Please note: You do not necessarily have to attend a food safety training course. Below are a number of ways you can fulfil your legal requirements for training

Use our training guides and other training resources

The FSAI training guides, Levels 1 &2 (Induction and Additional Skills) and Level 3 (for management), allow you to develop your own training course for your staff, or refresh your own food safety skills. These are extremely useful if you’ve been in the food industry a while and have a good knowledge of food hygiene and safety and feel confident to relay this information to your staff.

Attend the FSAI’s Food Safety and You course
