Who Looks After my Complaint?

The FSAI does not investigate food complaints directly, an investigation is carried out on our behalf by a food safety inspector. Depending on the nature of the complaint, the officer may be an environmental health officer, a sea fisheries protection officer or a veterinary officer from the Local Authority or the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.

If you've made a complaint through the FSAI and want to follow it up with your local food inspector:

  • Dublin/Mid-Leinster (includes Offaly, Laois, Westmeath, Longford, Kildare and Wicklow)
  • Dublin North East (includes Louth, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan)
  • West (Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Clare, Limerick and Tipperary North)
  • South (Cork, Kerry, Carlow, Kilkenny, Tipperary South, Wexford, Waterford)

If you are not happy with food safety standards make a complaint.
