Semicarbazide In Packaged Foods

In July 2003, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) was informed that semicarbazide (SEM) may have been found in some plastic sealing gaskets used in lids of glass jars in some packaged foods, which would include fruit juices, jams and conserves, honey, baby food, pickles, mayonnaise, and sauces.
