FSAI Publishes Audit of Cold Stores

The FSAI has published an audit report on levels of non-compliance with food law by commercial cold stores. These facilities provide services to food businesses by way of rental of refrigerated storage space and provision of other services.
FSAI Advises of Fresh Mussels Recall

A food recall of fresh mussels supplied from Wednesday 19th August to some retail stores throughout Ireland. The mussels were harvested from Roaringwater Bay, Co. Cork on Monday (17th Aug) and Tuesday (18th Aug) and may contain harmful levels of diarrhetic shellfish poisoning (DSP) toxins.
Unapproved Food Premises Forced to Close

A Closure Order and a Prohibition Order have been served on Mr Ivan Ebbitt, Erne Hill, Belturbet, Co. Cavan by veterinary inspectors from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. This unapproved food premises was unhygienic and unsuitable for the purposes of food production.

The free, half day event brings together a range of experts to explore the requirements needed for businesses to get off the ground and to comply with all the relevant food safety legislation.
