Nutrition and health claims legislative update on trademarks and brand names.
All food and drink products with trademarks or brand names must comply with Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006 on nutrition and health claims made on foods from 20 January 2022.
Article 28(2) of Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006 on nutrition and health claims made on foods allowed products bearing trademarks or brand names, existing before 1 January 2005, which did not comply with the regulation to be marketed until 19 January 2022. However, from 20 January 2022, all food products with trademarks or brand names which do not comply with Regulation (EC) 1924/2006 will no longer be permitted for sale on the market.
