Food Allergen Alert Notifications

Food allergy alerts are notifications issued by the FSAI regarding the possible risk to food allergy sufferers from a particular food. This may be due to inadequate or incorrect allergen labelling or any other reason which puts food allergy sufferers at risk.

Food allergy alerts are issued for information. In addition, a Food Alert Category 1 may also be published for the same incident. A Category 1 alert is issued if action is required by food business operators and/or enforcement agencies.
