Six Enforcement Orders Served in March

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) today stated that five Closure Orders and one Prohibition Order were served on food businesses during the month of March for breaches of food safety legislation pursuant to the FSAI Act, 1998. The Orders were issued by environmental health officers (EHOs) in the HSE West Region, the HSE South Region and the HSE Dublin North East Region.
Closure Orders were served on:
• Restaurant within Scaville Lodge, Duncormick, Wexford
• Main kitchen of Abbeyfield Hotel Conference and Leisure Centre Limited, Sligo Road, Ballaghaderreen, Roscommon (two Closure Orders)
• Shebeen Cuisine (First Floor Kitchen only) Within "The Vineyard", Patrick Street, Cork
• Papa Entis Pizzeria & Take Away, Main Street, Arva, Cavan
A Prohibition Order was served on:
• Shebeen Cuisine (First floor kitchen Only) Within "The Vineyard", Patrick Street, Cork
Commenting on these latest Enforcement Orders, Prof Alan Reilly, Chief Executive, FSAI, stated it was disappointing that there was a notable increase in Enforcement Orders served in March.

Details of the food businesses served with these Enforcement Orders are published on the FSAI’s website. Closure Orders will remain listed on the website for a period of three months from the date of when a premises is adjudged to have corrected its food safety issue, with Prohibition Orders being listed for a period of one month.
