The FSAI strives to ensure our website is accessible to everyone. We are committed to achieving a minimum of conformance level AAA with the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Web Content Accessibility Standards. The site is constantly under review to ensure our compliance has kept pace with technological developments.

Document formats

Most of the publications/reports on this website are available in both PDF and HTML format for easier reading and printing offline. 

To access the PDF documents, you will require Adobe Acrobat Reader or similar which you can download for free.

Some content on FSAI’s website does not fully comply with the European Union (Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies) Regulations 2020. For example:

  • Some documents in PDF lack a correct table heading tab order or headings and some contents may not be fully accessible
  • Some alt text may not have descriptive text
  • PDF documents may have non-descriptive ALT text or not be tagged as accessible to screen readers

FSAI staff are reviewing and improving the accessibility of PDFs and are working to address the other identified issues on an ongoing basis.

Preparation of the Accesibility Statement

This statement was prepared on 28th February 2023 following a review of a sample number of pages against all relevant WCAG 2.1 AA Success Criteria and relevant EN 301 549 clauses. This assessment was performed using a range to tools including:

  • Manual testing and Keyboard-only navigation testing
  • SortSite
  • WAVE Accessibility Checker
  • SiteImprove
  • Google Lighthouse
