Breakfast Bite: Food Safety Skills Training
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) would like to present ‘Breakfast Bites’, a series of free, informal meetings for small food businesses. Here, we provide useful information on the topics you want to know more about.
In this short Breakfast Bite, Ruth Conefrey (FSAI) and Diane Fox (FSAI) will remind food businesses how they can comply with food safety training requirements.
This free webinar will discuss the FSAI’s updated Guide to Food Safety Skills, and the skills required of food handlers depending on their role. Attendees will be brought through the updated FSAI Guide to Food Safety Skills and will learn how they can use the guide and other resources provided by the FSAI to meet their food safety training requirements. Ruth and Diane will also discuss the FSAI’s new eLearning module on Food Safety Skills Training, and how businesses can use it to enhance their training programmes and keep their staff up to date.
The training of food handlers is one of the key ways by which food businesses can ensure that the food they produce is safe to eat and contributes to having an appropriate food safety culture.
This webinar will outline what the training requirements are for food handlers and demonstrate how the resources provided by FSAI, can be used to ensure your team are well-trained. A food handler is any person who handles or prepares food whether it is unwrapped or packaged, even if physical contact is only a small part of their work. Food handlers must be supervised, and also instructed and/or trained in food hygiene based on the level of activity they are involved in.
This free event will be held online and will last 40 minutes. There will be an opportunity to ask Ruth and Diane questions at the end.
