Breakfast Bite on 3rd June: How to manage food safety in your business

Friday, 14 May 2021

To mark World Food Safety Day, our upcoming Breakfast Bite is on: How to manage food safety in your business.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) would like to present ‘Breakfast Bites’, a series of free, informal meetings for small food businesses. Here, we provide useful information on the topics you want to know more about.

To mark World Food Safety Day, our upcoming Breakfast Bite is on: How to manage food safety in your business.

Food safety is a shared responsibility between governments, producers and consumers.  Everyone has a role to play from farm to table to ensure the food we consume is safe and healthy. Through World Food Safety Day, the World Health Organisation  works to mainstream food safety in the public agenda and reduce the burden of foodborne diseases globally. Food safety is everyone's business.

At our Breakfast Bite, Lisa O’Connor (FSAI) will outline what a food safety management system is and why you must put one in place. She will discuss why this system must be based on the principles of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP). Lisa will explain the HACCP principles and how the legislation allows for flexibility in how they are applied. She will also outline the support material available. There will be an opportunity to ask Lisa questions at the end of her presentation.

These events are very helpful if you own or work in a small food business and also for those of you who want to get your new food business off the ground. This free event will be held online and will last 40 minutes.
