Evaluation of the Official Food Control Inspection System in Ireland

Study looking at the performance of the official control system in Ireland.

The FSAI’s mission is ‘to protect consumers’ health and consumers’ interests by ensuring that food consumed, distributed, marketed or produced in the State meets the highest standards of food safety and hygiene’.

In 2014, the FSAI commissioned this study as part of a wider evaluation of the performance of the official control system in Ireland. The study was carried out by ICF Consulting Services LDF.

This report contains the improvements and performance measures recommended by the group. It informed the deliberations of the Official Food Control Review.
