The FSAI comes under the aegis of the Minister for Health. It currently has a nine member Board, which is advised by the Scientific Committee and the Consultative Council. The Chief Executive is the direct link to the FSAI Board.
Within the FSAI, there is the CEO's Office, which includes the Communications Team and the Public Health Nutrition Policy Team, and five functional areas:
- Audit, Incidents and Investigations
- Corporate Affairs
- Enforcement Policy
- Food Science and Standards
- Regulatory Affairs and Compliance Building
