The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) would like to present ‘Breakfast Bites’, a series of free, informal webinars for small food businesses. Here, we provide useful information on the topics you want to know more about.

Our upcoming Breakfast Bite is on: Pest control in your food business.

This webinar will focus on good practice for food business operators in managing pest control procedures, monitoring and pest proofing in your food business.  It is suitable for all food business operators.

Firstly, Ruth Conefrey (Food Safety Authority of Ireland) will outline the rise in pest control issues associated with recent food safety enforcements and the responsibility of the food business operator to ensure your premises is protected from pests.

The event will also feature Philip Devenish (Environmental Health Service) who will speak about effective pest control. During his talk, Philip will look at some of the reasons why food businesses need a pest control regime and explore what a good set of procedures looks like in contrast to examples of bad practice that led to negative outcomes for some food businesses.

In addition, Michael Loughlin (Irish Pest Control Association) will speak on best practice for pest management and outline what your pest control operator should be delivering to ensure your food premises is protected from pests.

Lastly, there will be an opportunity to ask Ruth, Philip, and Michael questions at the end of their presentations. This free event will be held online and will last 40 minutes.

Shortly after registration, you will receive the event link by email which will give you the details on how to join the event on Wednesday 1 March.
