Local Authority Service Contracts
The FSAI has service contracts with the following local authorities. The service contracts were signed in 2016 and have been revised and extended by agreement between the FSAI and the local authorities to the 31 October 2024. Changes in the Service Contract with the Food Safety Authority of Ireland, effective from 23rd March 2024 are highlighted in the contracts in red font.

The FSAI also has administrative service contracts with the following County and City Councils. The purpose of these contracts is to allow a County Council to perform official controls on food safety in another county through an agreement made under Section 85 of the Local Government Act, 2001. For example, the administrative contract between the FSAI and Carlow County Council allows Kilkenny County Council to perform official controls on food safety in Co. Carlow. These service contracts have been extended and revised by agreement between the FSAI and the local authorities to 31 October 2024. Changes in the Administrative Service Contracts with the Food Safety Authority of Ireland, effective from 23rd March 2024 are highlighted in the contracts in red font.
