Breakfast Bite: Pest Control in your Food Business

This webinar focuses on good practice for food business operators in managing pest control procedures, monitoring and pest proofing in your food business. It is suitable for all food business operators.

Firstly, Ruth Conefrey (Food Safety Authority of Ireland) outlined the rise in pest control issues associated with recent food safety enforcements and the responsibility of the food business operator to ensure your premises is protected from pests.

The event also featured Philip Devenish (Environmental Health Service) who spoke about effective pest control. During his talk, Philip looked at some of the reasons why food businesses need a pest control regime and explored what a good set of procedures looks like in contrast to examples of bad practice that led to negative outcomes for some food businesses.

In addition, Michael Loughlin (Irish Pest Control Association) spoke on best practice for pest management and outlined what your pest control operator should be delivering to ensure your food premises is protected from pests.
