Common food poisoning bacteria

Food poisoning can be caused by harmful bacteria that can grow in food if it is not handled, cooked or stored safely. These bacteria are commonly found in food, the environment, and sometimes on hands or surfaces. If they are allowed to multiply, they can cause illness when the food is eaten.
